EDIT: Also, there's absolutely 0 way you don't have enough currency for maps. T1 maps are only like an alch, and if you're completely out, you severely screwed up somewhere down the line.
Don't do that. Complete waste a map if you do. Use an Orch of Alchemy on it, to give a large buff to the item quantity and monster pack size, which will considerably increase the amount of overall item drops you'll recieve/
or alternativly, if you are newbie and cant handle the whole lot of mods on a rare map, just use transmuation orbs. even magic maps should be enough in the beginning
i am pretty sure you did use mods, or did you run around in white rarity gear the whole game?
My general rule for maps is transmute T1-5 no chisel, T6-16 chisel + alch.
Only exception is if I dont have Burial chambers or volcano shaped and have my atlas set up to sustain on one of those maps for MFing.
I personally would not chisel any map tier below 13.While chisels are nice, they are also rare, and especially for a brand new players, chiseling low tier maps is a complete waste.
End-game revolves around crafting maps, trying to maximize quantiy and pack size out of mods while simultaneously keeping the mods from getting too dangerous that your build cannot run it. This is a limit that your build will find through experimentation and experience.
i pretty much never alch white maps. i alch yellows during progression and then usually stop except on like 10s. always alch reds, chisel and corrupt or zana mod 14+.
