Do I miss out on something if I don't kill the last trash mob? It's usually some slow ass zombie stuck on a blade of grass have to run around all over the place looking for it.

the only time it matters is if you are trying to do something that explicity calls for a full clear (like an achievement or challenge or something)

when mapping i call basically anything under "more than 50 remaining" good enough

would you care for that one? that one does not affect your XP at all, i promise that one, i sometimes leave out maps with 25 monsters cause i'm to lazy to find em

You only have to kill the boss to " complete " the map.

you don't miss out on something... the monster-counter is relatively new added to the game. i think you only need to kill all monsters at the beginning when you have to "clean" the fetid pool. ^^ But normally i don't care about single monsters, only kill groups.

the counter has always (at least since i started) been in there but it used to not display automatically when you brought up the map, you would have to type /remaining to see it.
