Just failed my first two incursions, should I just start a new character?

Title, there seems to be an unreasnably short amount of time to accompish goals in this new...thing. I've failed to kill either of the targets in both of my first incursions. Should I just start over?

You can't fail an incursion. If you look closely, each time you talk to npc after time runs out, the number of incursions to reach the temple keeps closing to 0. And what goals? Only goal there is to kill as many as you can in the time. Any kill extends the time just a little bit. I rush straight to the unique guy who usually has a red crystal like icon in minimap, and burst him down. Seems they are part of some challenge too.

After the number reaches 0, the next incursion will be like a map. You get i think 6 portals (max 6 times being either killed or portaling out) and no time limits.

I haven't killed a single one of the unique guys yet. If they're needed to improve the temple in the current day then mine is going to suck. Just failed to get another one of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the stupidly short amount of time we get.

Git gud. Just go with it, you'll get a new one anyway after you're finished with the current one.

I'm gonna go with, it's probably not worth doing incursions until you've done labs and are mapping. This whole league looks like it's shaping up to be exclusively post-game.

Although it may just be a matter of build, most seem to be liking this league. So a grain of salt is worth taking with my opinion.

Rainwatcher believes the incursions are only worth doing at endgame. He already posted another thread complaining about it, and he is entirely wrong. I'm an FP witch, have zero issues clearing the architects in said incursions, and the items you can get are amazing. Do not ignore them.

the rewards are really pretty ridiculous honestly. lvl 12 wand with 70 added flat damage and 100% inceased lightning? sure. lvl 10 chest with 120 and 10% max life? no problem.

Its pretty tough at extremely low level, but to say its end game only is pretty silly. Once I was into my mid 20s I was having no problem getting an architect in every run, and a door in most of them.

Just rush the architect, he adds a lot of time to your countdown, after that head towards the door youre looking to open and look for a glowing yellow guy. Its really not that bad once you know what youre doing, and the rewards from the temple are amazing.

Killing the bosses is actually optional, but yes you need to open some passages if you want to reach the final room. Killing some boss however can turn a room into explosive room, which can give you a portable explosive to use in the temple to blow up a passage you didn't get otherwise. Thanks to the explosive i was able to reach the final room and kill the end boss. But it doesn't seem to change the incursion system yet, it went straight back to the good old timed dungeons. The boss only dropped some trash jewel, but overall it seems a temple is a temple... It's for loot in every case, regardless of if you reach the end or not. Maybe it's 1 of the challenge goals but yeah, you got 3 months for that.

There may be higher tiers of temples (vaal temples?) but i don't know about that.

And it was my 4th time in the temple (after over 40 incursions) at level 40.

Hehe.. cant say I gotten far in these incurions(did about 7) but i did kill one of the room/bosses seem to only add a few more seconds. Anywho im only lvl 12 and its not as dangerous as the beastiary map bosses. Basically I just tried not to die and kill as many mobs as possible until i run out of time. Got a few good yellows for lvling once the timer ran out and kicked me out. And the Alda chick said I was doing fine and expecting ehr to be on the next map.
One thing though how do we get to recruit Masters if she is always in the map?

With the new Update multiple people or entrances to side areas can be on any zone. This means you can get Alva, a Master and Vaal side Area during leveling for example.
