Herald of Ash + Support question

Is Herald of Ash gaining bonuses from support gems?

I found an elder helm that supported socketed gems with +burning damage, and that did seem to up its mana reserve, however, the other 3 gems I linked with it (Fire Pen, Deadly Ailments, Elemental Proliferation), do not increase the mana reserve, nor add any support icons on the icon for Herald of Ash on my toolbar.

It's kind of hard to tell if it's having any effect having it supported by anything. I'm assuming it isn't since the mana reserve isnt changing,

Anyone know for sure what is going on? (and i triple checked, all 4 sockets are definitely linked)

Best way to tell if it is being supported by a gem is to look at it's Icon either on your hotbar or the character screen. Each working Support will add a coloured letter to the Icon.

Yeah that's what i meant by saying it was not adding any icons to the herald of ash icon in the toolbar. Its just Vanilla. Well thanks for helping me double check!

Fire Penetration requires that the supported skill hits. Herald of Ash technically doesn't hit.

Deadly Ailments act on ailments. Herald of Ash doesn't cause any. It's simply burning damage. Same reasoning for why Elemental Proliferation wouldn't work.
