Class like DemonHunter from Diablo 3? and noob questions
Hey,
ive just started playing and i would like to know if there is any good website with guys for newbies. I would really like to play something thats fast and has a lot of aoe damage. Ive played a lot of diablo 3 and i would like to play something similiar to diablo 3 multishot demonhunter.
Is there anything i can do wrong in the beginning?
What makes this game different from diablo? I love these kind of games but after playing for like 30 hours in diablo 3 i feel like im kinda done with the game. Is there trading between players like vanilla diablo 3 had? And if so, is there any list or rule how i can see that an item is worth something or that its trash? Since its a f2p game, is it possible to trade cash shop items too? Or cash shop currency? At which level does the real game begin? In Diablo 3 its lv 70.

Thanks in advance

dont know much about diablo but from what u have discribed theire alot of choices like a ranger with tornado shot

for builds to start with , go to the pathofexile forum under classes and choose a beginner friendly guide

u can trade with players over the trade chat ingame or use 3 party sites like poe trade (which is way better) , for price checking there are also tools like poe trade macro , which can price check ingame via an overlay

dont know what trade cash is but i assume ure talking about trading the ingame currency against mircotransaktion items which is not possible but its not needed since its all cosmetic anyway
Endgame is 60+ or even higher depending on how much u rush trough the main story

If you check out https://www.pathofexile.com/forum and under Classes/Build tab, you can see if there is anything that tickles your fancy. There are alot of good bow builds, and the one i like the most is Ice-Shot Raider. So damn satisfying to hear the shatteres on crit :) It's not the best bow build out there, but i just adore it.
Trading is pretty easy. Just go into poe.trade and search around for the stuff you want. Check out some YT vids on how to use the site if you don't get it at first, and should be good.
The real game starts at lvl1 :D But the end-game starts when you finish Act10, and you start to get into maps and finishing the Atlas. It will seem confusing at first, and i still struggle with ALOT of mechanics around it, but i'm loving the learning of maps.
If you want to check around for some good and cheap starter builds, just search on YT. Liftingnerdbro has some decent vids with links in the description to the builds. His totem build is pretty good for starter, but totems aren't for everyone.
And one final thing, install an Item Filter. Just search for NeverSink loot filter, and get the latest, read the Read-Me or check a YT vid on how to install and use it. Just start with the basic one or semi-strict, and work from there.

Other than that: Have FUN!!! :)

which is like half of the endgame builds

EK, Tornado shot, basically bow skills + mirrage archer and some spells fitting here

you can do all wrong in the beginning without guides etc

I dont know whats looks important for an newbie but I can tell you the most newbie pitfalls I see:

  • building a glass canon and neglecting life on tree (around 160% at least)
  • neglecting resis on gear and getting stomped in a4 onwards
  • betting on every little number of armor. but armor is just helpful against phys dmg
  • meglecting life but utilize armor and evasion stats. problem is that you get hit with booth. and if you dont have anythink to tank the hit you are dead
  • a very common pitfall is, that ranger are just there for bow stuff. witch just for spells etc. whereas the start classes are just there to determine the start point on the tree and for the ascendacy class later on
  • instead of utilize 1 (or max 2) skills and boosting these, newbies using 6 or 8 and boosting them with 2 links each
  • dont read the ingame help which is located left from the shop icon
  • dont read skill gems properly what they do and what they restrictions are
  • speccing too early in weapon specific nodes, like hammer or dagger nodes for example. general nodes like 2h or one handed nodes could be better because you find more items for it
  • using the tree to get stats which you can easily get with jewellery and belts
  • thats not ingame but dont link their profile when asking online for build help
  • no more ideas currently :steamsad:

maybe some of the points are over the top what you wanted but hey, better more than less :steamhappy:

more different content, more theorycrafting, + its free + more variation in the temp leagues (season in D3)

dunno what D3 had, but ye there is trading. but you could also play SSF, with no trading at all

unique items are fairly simple to check, rare items (yellow) need experience to get the price right

no

no

would say at the same level in poe. but after level content is done.

Path of building is going to eat you up alive...
demon hunter is the Ranged Class right?
that would be Ranger (Dex) or Deulist. (Dex/Str)

i'd go for Deulist. that way you both ranged and melee combat.

you can all classes as range or close combat / melee. that reasoning dont work quite well

also doing range AND melee combat in one char delivers a 100% chance that the char will fail somewhere.

There isn't one, this isn't Diablo 3. Ranger is the basic ranged character.
