1) 2 socket your item with vorici and do 2 blue
2) do the 3 socket craft
3) is the 3rd socket blue? if yes proceed, if no do 2 sockets and try again (you dont need to do the 2 blue again those wont change)
4) do the 4 socket craft
5) is the 4th socket blue? if yes congrats if no keep flipping between 3 and 4 sockets until you get it
this is much much cheaper than trying to chrome 4 offcolors
Past the vorici craft you are going to be rolling chomatic orbs on it, and not just a few hundred, the colours are weighted to the items stats (so strenght is going to be moslty red sockets)
and when you start trying to do ALL one colour the cost can jump into the thousands.
I will have to switch up my armor then ;(
You can, but the color that corresponds to the defense type (Armor/ES/Ev) on the armor are far more prevalant than the others.
So Armor helmets are more likely to roll Red sockets than Blue or Green. Sucks but there you are.
Also if your equipment is not set in stone already and you're still trying to find some good gloves or boots or whatever, adjust your future equipment to your gems, picking str/int gloves over pure str won't really affect your defence, but it will make it easier to get your build running.
Plug the appropriate numbers into this website and you will find out what the average number of chromes you will need to use:
https://siveran.github.io/calc.html
For example, to get 4 blue sockets on a Royal Burgonet which has a 148 Str requirement will cost:
20,675 chromes if you just spam chromes on it (worst method to use)
1562 chromes if you use the 3 blue Vorici master crafting recipe at a cost of 120 chromes per attempt (best method to use)
do people even read the thread they are posting in?
Yes I read your post before making mine. I was directly quoting the results of the page I linked and pointing out the best and worst on that page for the example item I mentioned.
And contrary to Sahah's guess, your method does not average 100 jewelers for the particular example I gave.
The actual average cost via your method is 25 chromes + 225 jewelers for a helm with a 148 str requirement.
And yes, that is a better method.
Best method I would say is using Vorici's master bench for the tricks to save up more currencies spend, alternatively can check on trade if anyone is letting go cheap.
a) roll 2 socket, roll 2 blue
b) then try roll 3 socket, if it is not blue, repeat step (a)
c) if you hit blue in all 3 socket, now roll 4 socket, and if it's not blue, repeat step (b).
Also these works with 5, 6 socket vice versa. Just make sure you have a backup helmet to roll if you fail, your build will probably as well.
Hmm also 4 x blue socket, if i am not wrong, you are playing a RF builld. You can consider gloves as well :)
Good luck have fun!
