POB doesn't adjust for Tornado shot 2 additional projectiles
I have two helmets input. One has the enchant and another does not. The dps doesnt change whatsoever when i swap them.

With Tornado Shot, enemies can be hit by one primary projectile and one secondary arrow per primary projectile. So if I shoot three arrows, one primary projectile can hit and three secondary projectiles can hit.

Path of Building shows the dps of a single projectile for bow and wand attacks.
If it shows that I do 1000 dps, and I shoot three arrows total, then I potentially could do 4000 dps if the primary and all the secondary projectiles hit.

Another simpler example is Barrage, if I shoot five projectiles, just multiply the dps by five.

Don't trust PoE DPS Tooltip?

Why would it change?

Think about what you're looking at: Single target DPS.

Now, TS can only hit the enemy once on the way through it (if the point of impact is behind the enemy, from your point of view) and then once by one of the projectiles created at that location. Each enemy can only be hit by one secondary projectile from each primary projectile. This means that while the higher count of secondary projectiles will likely hit more enemies, it doesn't strictly increase your DPS, or what most people view as DPS anyways, as the enemy is not hit by more projectiles or projectiles with higher damage.

Now one might argue that it's more likely to hit with 5 instead of 3 secondary projectiles flying, but it's not trivial to put a number on that (although you might be able to with infos about hitbox sizes etc, but those depend on the enemy as well...).

why would the DPS change? you are adding arrows, that dose not mean they will hit anything, the dps display shows the damge from the one that dose hit, some of the tools had a box where you could set how many arrows hit.

maybe my understanding of TS was off. I thought multiple could hit a target and that increases the possible chance to multi hit with more arrows. thanks

I am new to POB and thought that it could show effective dps in a better way than the tool tip. It does give higher numbers when compared to the tooltip in game tho so that was helpful.
