Does Hypothermia Support actually work with Herald of Ash?
Technically, Hypothermia Support does support HoA (per stats and the support icon on HoA), but does it really do anything? When I read the description of the HS gem, it doesn't seem like any of that applies to HoA.

Anybody know if this is actually a helpful support?

looks like the highlight is caused by some overlapping in tags. But nonetheless, no hypothermia shouldn't be used with herald of ash.
If you want to do more damage with the aoe, pick some burning damage or damage over time support.

Thanks, Sajah. That's what I figured, just wanted to check. Have to figure if it's worth it to mess with the socket colors to get a workable support gem.

Generally speaking you don't want to waste links on supporting heralds outside of a few exceptions. Put it in a ring if you can.

Thanks, Dregor. I have available socketed rings, but the rings I'm wearing are too useful to replace with them. I'll keep toying to see if I can craft something I'd be willing to use.

While I'm doing that, you mentioned there were some useful supports for some Heralds. What are they? At present, I'm in the middle of rearranging all of my gems while upgrading some gear, so I might as well figure out what I do and don't want to make space for.

For HoA specifically you could use enlighten (decreased mana reservation) or burning damage support. Also you could use swift affliction (not as good as burning damage). I wouldn't recommend it, but you could do that. Sometimes it would be useful, other times not so much.

If you're using HoA and have available links and aren't doing anything else with your sockets then I guess supporting HoA would be better than doing nothing. You'd be much better off (generally speaking) with a better setup using those links.

Yeah, that's the issue right now. I don't have the right mix of colors (other desirable support gems/skill gems don't match linked sockets) in the right places to use the support slot for anything more useful. So any support would likely be only until I assemble something more desirable.

Thanks for the info. If I run into either of those, I'll grab it.
