help with gem synergy (CWDT)

Im following a build guide https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2187283

And they have

4 Link CWDT:
Cast when Damage Taken, Steelskin, Enfeeble, Summon Lightning Golem

Now i cant have steelskin as it requires to much STR at the moment so ive slotted Molten shell instead.

The problem is ive just had a boss fight on act 8 and i definitely met the requirements for CWDT to activate but it refused too, i know this because Lightning golem never spawn and im pretty sure noting else activated that was linked.

Im doing something wrong and i cant see it so i thought id ask here

Gems are linked,right colour slots.

If needed i can give the info to import what ive done on Path of building.

Are you sure the gems are of the right level req ? Remember than a cwdt will never trigger a gem that has a lv req superior to cwdt.

I didnt know that but it would seem that is the problem as enfeeble and lightning golem are lvl 15 where as the CWDT support gem is level 10.
Im sure i saw a way to lower gem level or ill just buy never vendor versions i suppose

Its still not working even after buying lvl1 gems from the vendor

My path of building character id is D55 and im using TinkTonker

With your CWDT gem at its current level of 11, you'd need to take 1485 damage before the linked gems will trigger, are you sure you've been taking that much damage? Most people level it to around 5 or 6 and stop so it triggers more often from a much smaller amount of damage taken.

Edit: Just noticed the gloves you've put the gems in, they have "Gems are supported by level 20 Trap", that might be the problem :)

It was the gloves, it works now but i think ill try level another CWDT gem and not level it too high, i learn a little more each day!
