Timeless jewel of vanity? What do the #'s mean?

For the "timeless jewels of vanity" what is the significance of "bathed in blood of (100-8000)"? What is impacted by getting a higher number?

Also, is it possible to farm them in standard (maybe chancing..?), or is just trading the only way to get them? The wiki isn't clear.

the number is what kind of passives will it give you. having a high or low number doesnt really matter.

you cant farm them in standard because its a legion mechanic

Thanks, but how are they available to purchase in poe.trade for standard if they are exclusively legion?
Unless there's some way to transfer characters to standard before legion is over?

HC character dies with it equipped then you have one in standard

Dying in hardcore legion, dumps the character into standard. Whatever you are carrying in inventory is also brought over (not stash).
