How to prevent programs from stealing focus from game?

You can probably imagine my frustration when Malwarebytes premium trail (which I didn't even want) steals focus in the background and has a char I spent several hours leveling die in HC. In fact another char just died in SC from the same problem.

Is there a way to block programs from doing this? These little alerts that pop up on the bottom right side of my screen are really starting to piss me off.
I'm thinking to write an auto hotkey script that just constantly checks if POE is out of focus and restore focus to it. Is there a more elegant solution?

Dont have malwarebytes running while playing or disable on start up(shoul be in the options) and run the program if you feel its time for a "clean up".

Notification? Just disable it via Windows settings... If it's related to malwarebytes, configure that software directly. Windows 10 even has a focus assist option.

Otherwise set poe to run in fullscreen instead of windowed fullscreen.

Ya Malwarebytes was just an example, I don't want something else to unexpectedly steal focus either. Running it on fullscreen actually makes it far worse due to a 3 second black screen when exiting fullscreen (losing focus), and 3 more seconds to switch back in.

This is a new install of windows 7 and I'm afraid to waste time in HC for some stupid ♥♥♥♥ to kill off a char I'm 70 levels into playing.

Set it to "Fullscreen"..

It doesn't let applications draw on top of POE but they can minimize it if they spawn with higher priority on Windows.

Unrelated to your issue, I recently moved as many games as I could to borderless full screen, because I did not like the performance of many games when they minimized. That solved my issue and I can maximize the game far faster in the event another program comes into focus.
