Upgrading the blackheart ring

Ok so I have the blackheart ring and the prophecy "from the void". I don't know how to trigger the prophecy. could anyone help?

since a direct link to the best path of exile website wiki will be "removed" automatically when i post it in here i can recommend you to go to the path of exile gamepedia website and find out about all the stuff you dont know about the game.

But in order to help you out a bit, the prophecy "from the void" will tell you that you need to kill "Bameth" which is a unique "beyond" monster that can spawn when you kill alot of enemies in an area affected by the "Beyond" (map) mod. So first of all before that beyond monster with the name "Bameth" spawns, you first need to have the prophecy activated by right clicking it if the prophecy is an actual item in your possession to make it an active prophecy if it isnt already. Secondly you either need to have the blackheart ring in your inventory or even wearing it while you kill Bameth. When you then kill "Bameth" you'll see a prophecy trigger and you then have the upgraded blackheart (which is then named Voidheart) ring in your inventory (or wearing it). Good Luck!

Thank you so much this is extremely helpful to me. However, could you tell me how to obtain maps with the Beyond map mod? I just got into mapping and don't fully understand it

you are able to use currency orbs to roll modifiers on maps, one of those modifiers (a prefix) can be of the type "otherwordly" that acts like a "Beyond"modifier. The actual modifer also exists as a Zana mod this league but it'll be unlocked as the last available zana mod regarding your atlas progress so in your case thats not really possible. Unless you try the "fortune favours the brave" zana mod which can roll into any zana mod at random also ones you havent unlocked yet. but yeah, i wouldnt recommend that one. I would just aim to get the "Otherwordly" modifier on a map with alot of mob density. or just straight up buy the voidheart ring from another player. since they are very cheap rings, and it might be too much of a hassle to get yours "for free". (depending on Bameth RNG spawn)

IGN is SkinnyToes but thats all I needed to know. I'm sure there is an efficient way of farming for maps with otherworldly mods but I won't bother you for that explanation. But seriously thank you for this, I don't usually post of forums with questions because I know I'm slow to pick up a game and would rather not be shamed for it you know?

There is never a shame in asking questions. But it's always good to strive for finding out the answers completely by yourself before asking questions, because that's the best way for personal improvement/growth (in general). :)
