Ok because I've seen people upgrading it to 20% quality etc.

upgrading with a vaal orb has a chance to add random modifiers or brick it. not brick, but you cant use it until like lvl 30 or above.

Vaaling (corrupting) it can give it something random (best ones is the 1% to max res, 40/50% increased damage or the 1+ to socket gems)

since when? quality only affects the over line stats of the item and the chance for fusing and jeweller orbs.

you cant after corrupting, which is why people do it before. And then run around with the quality if it doesnt brick.

quality on tabula has no effect, and if you brick the tabula in some rare item then it is a new item and dont inherit the quality bonus of the initial tabula.

or in other words:

vaal orb does..
#1 nothing, just add the corrupt line
#2 change socket color to white
#3 add an implicit corruption
#4 change the item in something different

in all cases the quality is irrelevant on a tabula.

Where are we getting the idea you can't use vaal orbs until you're level 30? That makes literally zero sense.
THey can drop about the same time as Chaos orbs.
You can literally use them as soon as they drop, which is a long time before level 30.
Heck, it probably drops around level 12.

You can freaking trade a level 1 character an exalted orb, and they can use it on a rare. Sure it makes no sense to do that, but you can.

you do know that certain corruptions have a min level? out of the 18 corruptions for body armors, only 4 are at lvl 1
