How to install standalone client??
as the title said.. i am tired of patching through Steam and decided to use standalone client.. i've downloaded the "PathOfExileInstaller.exe" and run it.. I already copied content.ggpk into the same folder with the installer..

then it says initializing process something and when it is completed there is only "Finish" option(this process only took me 2 minutes max)..

The installer never asked me anything about directory etc.

I tried to rerun the installer and it shows "Modify Setup" as header but there is nothing beneath it.. blank as my examination paper.. it also gave me 3 option, "Repair" "Uninstall" "Close"..

whenever i press close it says "Are you sure you want to cancel?" idk cancelling what, cuz there is nothing going on with the installer.. i already checked with the task manager..

Do i need to uninstall my PoE in steam first????
I have potato internet i dont want to download it all over again

I don’t think I ever had to uninstall it before getting the standalone, but it’s been awhile. Just download the standalone and use the launcher from your desktop.

/sarcasm

seiously:
1.install standalone client
2.click FINISH
3.go find folder where standalone client installed, like D:\PoE
4.copy content.ggpk to this D:\PoE folder
5. double-click PoE standalone client shortcut on your desktop.

not a rocket science. but i believe nowadays people should buy consoles... or ask their parents to help them install their games :)

your content.ggpk from Steam probably no use for standalone, may be still they need to re-download part of the game

If it's current, it's ok. Just bloated and should be internally defragged to save on space and potentially access time.
