If you check the global steam achievements in any of your games in your library, you'll find the numbers from poe is actually pretty good. Heh, even the "robocraft" game you recently played showed less than 4% even did one of the achievement globally.
I included that frustratingly hard part because in-game several people were talking about it on global.
* The author of this post recognizes that the above is a wild extrapolation and therefore should be given next to zero credence at all.
Who cares about some faceless strangers playing the game. Personally I did not even play this season abyss. My game time is my own time :).
You made a simple basic ( incorrect ) ass umption and tweisted it into an excuse cuz you suck at the game.
Ive finished the game in Abyss and havent come close to unlocking any tiers of anything. Thats not my focus, finishing the game to get to the maps where the real fun starts.
This game almost challrnges you to finish it, of course most ppl havea " dont quit " attitude.
None of the acts are realy hard at weill with an average build. If you choose your passive skills like a drunken chicken ofc thr game gets harder.
Imo more like 75% of players are obsessed with finishing. Look at the hours ppl have played, do that seen like any1 but you " quit " ?
My guess is this is how it goes:
Person downloads free game, "ah I love diablo games"
Plays a bit, levels up.
Opens skill tree.
Uninstalls.
I don't think it's quite that abrupt. My guess (!) is that, as you state, fans of the genre download the game to give it a shot. After a handful of hours they decide that this particular game is not to their taste for any number of reasons. Skill tree could be part of it, as could the currency system, a poorly timed disconnect, or even something as simple as the graphics.
And it has nothing to do with the Skill Tree, it's because the abilities are just boring and basic.
A dinky little fireball... yay?
The enemies are boring and basic.
The landscapes are boring and basic (and terribly monochromatic).
I understand that things likely get more exciting later, but if a game doesn't grab me in the first hour or two, it's hard to care about the rest.
That's one thing Diablo 3 did right, mixing up zones right away, and giving abilities that felt exciting to use right away. It captures the imagination early on, in a way that PoE struggles with.
