Nothing happens when I launch PoE
Hey guys,

title says all I think - when I click on "Play" NOTHING happens.

I tried verified integrity of game files, tried to lauch it as admin, checked multiple articles about the same issue, but nothing worked for me.
GPU drivers are not up to date (I don't like being a beta tester - I rather wait until all flaws are taken care of), but I don't think this would solve the problem, or?

Game worked without any issues in the past, got 100h+ played

i7 @4.4GHz
16GB RAM
1070 Gaming X

Any ideas?

Thanks

I'm having the exact same issue so hopefully someone knows honestly because it worked fine a week ago, now when I start it, nothing happens, it says running and there's no process for me to close but I can't find the game.

I dont know any particular solution, but I know that similar problems can occur when something interfere with steam. Maybe worth to look into that direction. :CA_notme:

I read this on the POE forum however I didn't test it yet, try and launch the game with GeForce Experience, seems to have worked for one person. It should re-write the profile you have for poe, and then it should work again. That's what I've read at least. I'm currently reinstalling and will test it in a bit. I just reinstalled to the most current graphics driver, not beta. I assume this was caused by the windows 10 update that happened like 2 days ago, because it worked fine before this.

I tried launching it from GeForce Experience, but unofortunately it's not helping :S

Tried both Path of Exile games I got there - the other one is Path of Exile (DirectX 11) - with and without optimization, but nothing.

It says "Running" for 1second, but after that just "Syncing" and that's it

Yeah geforce experience didn't solve my problem, deleteding files in my documents/mygames/pathofexile didn't help either, reinstalling didn't help, so all that's left is uninstalling the most recent windows 10 updates and see if that does anything. I'm actually not experiencing this issue on any other games I play so I can't say it's not POE's fault but at the same time it started around the same time as the last windows 10 update. It's probably just something POE itself can't handle with the last windows 10 update.

I uninstalled the recent windows 10 updates and still nothing, I have no clue at this point but I suppose I can't play anymore. Let me know if you find a fix please.

If I go to task manager and close the game through details I'm given the option to start the game through dx9 instead of dx11, turns out dx11 is crashing when the game is launched so it doesn't do anything. I haven't found a way so far to reinstall dx11(microsoft basically tells me it gets installed with updates and doesn't come as a standalone) or get past that and I don't understand why this is happening.

How do I check your old posts?

Did everything you mentioned as well, still can't play it.

I actually don't have latest version of windows 10 (version 1703 still here) so the problem is definitely not in latest win update.

Other things I tried:
- Completly reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable
- Editing production_Config file

No idea what else to try...

all I can suggest so far is that if you press ctrl+alt+delete while the game is running then go to details in the tabs in task manager and right click on path of exile and click on end process tree it should say "dx11 has crashed would you like to start in dx9" so it lets you start in dx9. This isn't a fix, because I get constant stuttering in dx9, and it looks terrible and etc, so there's no reason why all of a sudden this game doesn't work anymore in dx11 while every other game I have does, but if you really want to play that's one option I guess, it will be painful probably. I wont play that way but it's up to you. I hope this works for you at least because I wasn't able to find any other solution at this point in time. It seems to be an issue with the game itself, not with windows because reverting back did nothing, and running in different compatibility modes does nothing either.

Where do you see that? I'd like to check to see if we're having a similar thing going on. I've been looking for it but I don't see it anywhere.

I am either too slow or my computer too fast :) I have like 1 second until it disappears from task manager.

But nevermind, I will wait for some time and maybe someone will come up with a solution. I'll try to ask PoE support, they could know..

It will disappear from the processes tab but not from the details tab. If you click on details at the top the game should stay there(scroll down to see it) and keep on running, otherwise it should close out of steam too and the problem should be different. But it should stay in the details tab and you should be able to end the process tree for pathofexilex64.exe from there by right clicking on it and selecting end process tree which should promtp you to select dx9. Again this isn/t a fix because why doesn't the game work on dx11 anymore I don't know and dx9 sucks for most people, but if you really want to play this should work.

I'm gonna assume this is an issue that will be fixed in time which sucks because I'm trying to play on the current league and I can't so oh well basically.
