What the hell? I can't install.

I copied the game from a usb to my PC, put it right where it was suppose to be. Steam says it finds it, and then it DELETES the game and restarts the download fresh. What. The. Actual. ♥♥♥♥?

start the download on steam , pause it . rightclick on poe , properties , then open the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile and simply overwrite the content. after you've done that resume the download it will prompt that it found files and you should be good to go

... I dont understand why you thought you could simply take the files from another computer and put them on a new one wholesale without steam AT LEAST having created its own specific files.

That whole "allocating space" thing? Thats steam doing its config and stuff.

Won't do much good, as the partial file will not be recognized, and the content file is one large package...

Because it's LITERALLY deleting the game file, you know, the big 9+gb one? It shouldn't do that.

It would have actually. Did you get the files from anotfer PC? If you did "Backup" in that PC with Steam, you could move the backup files to the flash drive. And from your PC's Steam you had to use "Restore" and choose the installation path and voila, you got the game on your PC.

I still have the game on the laptop that I orignally downloaded it from. And I only did this because the laptop can download oh....10x faster than my pc right now? So, the 6gb update, which was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, was done faster by installing it on the laptop and then transfering.

Up until Steam literally deletes everything I put on it now.

Probably because it's not the most current version, there's been an 11MB update after that.

So, instead of Steam realizing I have the full thing installed and simply UPDATING, it just deletes it? That's superb stuff.
