Please help me configure an item filter
I've been using "One filter to rule them all", but lately it's been highlighting/not highlighting items that I want not highlighted/highlighted. I've been looking into Neversink's item filter, and it looks really customizable, but the amount of options is kinda overwhelming me.

First, to elaborate on the problems I've been having with "OFTRTA" - I like to collect superior weapons and armor to trade them in for blacksmith/armorer stones, but it's been really inconsistent on when these are highlighted. I'd like it to highlight small items that are at least 5% superior, and large items if they're at least 10% superior.

It's also been showing perfectly ordinary white-rarity items, and I can't figure out why - what's so special about an unupgraded white item with 3 non-linked sockets of differing colors? I don't know why it's not hiding these things. I also have no interest whatsoever in using maps, so I don't want it to highlight rock breakers or hammers.

So anyway, I've been to http://www.filterblade.xyz/ and checked out all the stuff there, but I can't figure out how to customize it the way I want it. Any help would be appreciated.

How would we know, you haven't even copy-pasted the item here, so we know nothing about the item. Lack of information... It might be a good crafting base (especially with high itemlevel, yellow bordercolor), it might be a base to chance (green bordercolor), or something else...

If this isn't available from configuration, you could edit your filter directly, use
Width <= 2
Height <= 2
or similar values to specify what's considered small/large and either put it atop your filter to overrule later rules or near the bottom to be highlighted if no other rule catches them (might miss some then).

What do you mean by "crafting base" and "base to chance"? And assume no bordercolor at all.

I think it probably is available from configuration, but I don't know what on that website to change.

I doubt it, whetstones/armourers aren't really rare to begin with, you're probably bringing down your loot efficiency by doing that. (But if it entertains you, by all means, do it.)

Crafting base - something to craft, like a high ilvl jewellery or so, something you either chuck an alc on or maybe even transmute+alteration->regal for some use case
Chance base - An itembase to use an orb of chance on, because the unique that can result from it is very valuable or desirable, so for trying to get a The Baron or Kaom's Heart or similarly 100+c items.

Well, I don't have many whetstone/armorer thingies, so I've been trying to build up my supply. Once I get enough I'll probably stop trying. As for "loot efficiency", I'm not nearly that level of meta.

Okay, so if these white items have desirable crafting/chance bases, then why aren't they highlighted specially? I'm getting just ordinary-looking white items popping through my current item filter.

You talked about like 4-8 items you'd need to turn in for one such item, whereas the chaos recipe requires around 10 items (depends on 2handers or not) for a chaos, a currency worth about 40 times (dependent on league etc) as much, probably more. And the chaos recipe is considered too much of a hassle already, aka off-meta, by many.

They are, they have designated bordercolors, as discussed above...

And I won't help you in that regard, it's a waste of time to compile the list of why it might have been (minutes to hours)... compared to the investment you could do to just copy and paste the item (less than a minute).

I'm playing in standard league, have never traded with anyone, and have no desire ever to so. Basically I'm playing PoE as if it's a single-player game. So I don't really care how much a currency is "worth", I just care if I can use it to improve my characters.

When you say "copy and paste the item" I'm assuming you mean link to a screenshot, right? I haven't bothered to screenshot any items I've been getting because that was just an example I gave. I've been getting dozens of white items that are coming through my current item filter, and it'd be a hassle to screenshot them every time, when all I wanted to do was just provide an example. Now, could you please just forget about this entirely and get back on subject? I want to install Neversink's filter, but the customization options are confusing me. Given the information about my playstyle that I said in the first post, do you or do you not know how to tweak the settings of the filter to attain the results I want?

Get Antnee filter, it lets you remove everything you dont want to see on the first paragraph.
Drake Sep 5, 2017 @ 2:30pm
Just do the filter yourself if you have such special needs. I did mine from scratch with notepad++ (for the colorization of keywords), it takes some time the first blocks but once your base is set it takes like 10s to add custom rules. Writing it yourself will make you much faster at editing and understanding, just forget about all the filters and sites on the web.

So instead of taking one minute to download a filter that someone else much more talented than me spent hundreds of hours on, you want me to... do it myself?

Nope.jpg

I'll check out this Antnee filter and see how simple it is.
Drake Sep 5, 2017 @ 3:01pm
Much more talented than you ? come on, how can you know that if you haven't tried. It's an item filter, you're not building an API, it's seriously very simple, like building some LEGO, the devs made it so that anyone could do it.
Also I very doubt a guy spent hundreds of hours on a filter (more so if "he's talented"). 20-30h tops counting updates and I'm generous. I know I didn't spend more than 10h on mine and I'm very satisfied with it.

well tbh, he was on subject. you reported that your filter let white items through without any idea why. he wanted a screen to identify the kind of item it was

My point was that I didn't care why it was letting them through, I just wanted it to stop. But I tell you what, I'll go ahead and take a few screenshots next time I play and link them here anyway.

My mistake, I was remembering wrong. What I actually meant was "an item filter based on 100+ pages of feedback", which is the claim in Neversink's item filter. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1246208 (6 text boxes down from the top, if you care)

well you can just stop things, when you know what they are
