Need some help with a Righteous Fire weapon question.

I am currently using Doon Cuebiyari with Molten Shell+ Cast when Damage Taken and was thinking of changing it into a Doryani's Catalyst. My question is , will the damage lost from the Iron Will effect on Doon be outweighed by the dmg boost from Doryani's ?

Doon gives 30 Iron Will to socketed gem. So RF builds around hp / resists / str so it actually gains quite a bit of dmg output and a bit of blocking power. But Doryani's increases my elemental dmg up to 132% (perfect rolled Dory).

So I am wondering if I switch to Dory will the dmg output from it outweigh the Iron Will/ Molten Shell dmg.

I think it does. But I am not sure.

In my worse-case scenario math, you would need at least 197 strength for Doon to be better than Doryani's. Anything less and Doryani is better. I am running a RF+DP build this league. My projected STR is just under 500. I'll assume the same for you. So stick with Iron Will.

Oh I am at 790 str so I guess it outweigh's Doryani's.
I assumed the extra 112% ele dmg would be better for RF dmg but I guess since I am so high up in Str it benefits too greatly with Doon's

Why not just import into Path of Building and find out for yourself?

i do not think iron will effects Rf btw since RF doesnt "hit" and Rf isnt a Spell either. It just burns...or barrles would explode when u ran near them. Elemental damage would seem to be ur better bet IF you are not trying to Focus on melee.

I didn´t know Iron will worked with RF. I tried a similar build about a year ago - started out with Doon and and switched to doryani because it was more effective. And I had alot of Strength back then. If Doon hasn´t been buffed since then, its most likely not worth it.

Ya Iron Will does not affect RF. And I am a mix between shield charge and just running around letting RF melt stuff.

Shield charge in to make molten shell , tempest shield and immortal call proc. Then kite if needed. RF pretty much melts anything that's not a unique. Was just wondering about Doryani's since I've heard at such high str (800) its not worth switching out of Doon's. But other people say its worth it.

So I'm stuck lol

i would just use poe builder. it seems to show what support gems work with what, and what % it will raise ur dps/hp ect. I mainly use the application to test out skill links ect. though you can tweak everything and add gear ect and get a gneral ideal of what ur toon will look like at random lvls.

However i love the 131 ele % damage from doryan and i got it for 45chaos.

Feel free to pm me in game and we can toss ideals around. i am still learning always myself. Thats one of the fun things is testing out your ideals for classes ect.. tho you are always at the mercy of the RNG gods.
