please explain to my friend why making a "dodge build" is bad idea
he won't listen to me when i say "dodge and spell dodge is capped at 75%" and he thinks dodge is gonna help him against end game bosses like azitri and shaper, he's less than an hour in and he says that dodge is "overpowered"

edit: he doesn't even have a "main" damage skill for his "build"

Tell him his build shouldn't be based on how much damage he can avoid/absorb, but on a skill or unique item. And this comes from someone that has dodge as his main defensive skill on the character he is leveling.

Evasion and Dodge can never stop you from getting one-shotted. They also degrade based on the number of attacks aimed at you recently.

They buffed evasion but they also added new mobs that have high attack speed and accuracy. lol.

To mitigate this he can use a secondary defense stat or give himself enough HP to endure the damage, but he needs a balance or will get wrecked.

PoE is about mixing different defence mechanics, using only one type of defence will kill you, that goes for pure armor build or pure block builds, or pure evade builds etc.

A dodge build is usually dodge + evasion + high life + damage reduction to avoid oneshots that pass through (like mind over matter, damage conversion, utility flasks etc.). Having ele resists capped is also mandatory for any build.

Great, he can dodge 75% of hits. Good luck survivng the 25% of one-shots he recieves. I'm guessing he doesn't play hardcore otherwise he'd learn this the hard way :)

Dodge doesn't decay.

If your friend is feeling daring, he can couple Evade/Dodge with Blocking.

Nothing can really stop you from getting one shotted.

Why did you put "main" in quotation marks?
