Max 3 Sockets???

I have a lot of pieces that are all above item level 25 and 30 on my new build, but the game won't let me exceed 3 sockets on any of them??

Is this is a new bug / patch note? I'm playing on legacy rn if that matters.

depends on the type of item. Certain items will allow a max of 3 sockets like one handed weapons. Body armour has a max of 6 sockets, boots and gloves has 4

Item level also plays a part in how many sockets an item can have maximum.
Anything under level 55 will not allow 6 sockets, even if it can normally get them.
I think it's 55.

The exception to that rule is getting the extra 2 sockets, or 1 on a strongbox, that will drop 6 sockets, and theoretically six links before 55.

op is trying to get sockets on one hand weapons or shields, either that or he is confusing required level with item level....or maybe he is just suffering from bad RND and is thinking that a few jewelers will get him 4 sockets.
