What in the passive tree is needed for an ice witch?

Just wonder what you should go for, not an entire skill build just what passives you should go for that is a must for ice witch or elemental overall(:

200-250% ES is priorty.

After that, go for elemental damage, maybe CI, maybe cold damage and cold pen, it really all varies based on what build exactly you're going for. Ice Witch is vague as all hell, lol.

But yeah, getting 200-250% ES from the tree is a must for any ES-based build.

Well, you would typically choose your passive based partly on what skill you are using. A general direction of cold spells is quite tricky to build for. I could only suggest going for the generic spell damage and cast speed nodes.

Then I suggest reading through the wiki before attempting any builds. There are many mechanics to be aware of.

If you're new, either follow a build online, or wing it. No matter which one you choose for, your char is likely to fail, so keep that in mind.

If you're going to wing it, try and get alot of passives that increase your Energy Shield, and a little bit of passives that increase your Elemental Damage. Aside from that, look around the tree, and see what interests you. If the tree intimidates you, just zoom in all the way, look at all the nodes in your immediate vicinity, choose those, and just do that.

If you're going to follow a build, try and understand why the build makes the choices it does. Ideally, you want to get to a point where you don't need to follow a build.

I've found a build that focus around the spell "Freezing Pulses." Thats a spammable, and effective, spell you can use.

There's also that. Not too familiar with the spell, it also requires you to cast 3 curses, which may be complicated for a newer player.

Sorry for not getting any good builds. I'm having trouble finding any Ice WItch guides that are easy and straightforward to play, while also being cheap.

ES: Energy Shield. Extra health bar that automatically recharges after not taking damage for x seconds.

CI: Chaos Innoculation, a passive that makes you immune to chaos damage, while capping your Health at 1.

Cold Pen: Cold Penetration. Basically, cold damage will bypass a portion of cold resistance.

i would probably stay away from freezing pulse as a new player
