If you mean killing the story boss in normal, you can do it a less than 8 hours, provided you know a little about hack&slash rpg. Now if you mean kill the end bosses like the shaper, unless you're comitted you can even spend a year without seeing it.
But if you want to push for the actual end-game and beat the "final boss" of the game, then you have a very long journey ahead of yourself.
Define 'beating the game' and you'll get narrower answers.
The game is far from over at this point, but it's a good milestone. The race to shaper is shrouded in darkness, I'd like to learn more about it as well.
