Might & Magic X - Legacy

THE SECOND OFFICIAL PATCH IS HERE!
Today we are happy to present you the second official patch of Might & Magic X – Legacy Early Access. As well as delivering many game improvements, we are very excited to announce that this second patch for MMX Early Access comes bundled with the MMX Modding Kit, allowing you to create your very own adventures!

Before we talk about all the exciting things we have in store, we wanted to thank you all for the numerous messages posted on the Open dev blog and forums. MMX would certainly not look so gorgeous today without you.

Let's talk about the Modding Kit release first! We really wanted to get this powerful kit into your hands as soon as possible, so that you can dive straight into creating and playing mods before the game is actually fully released. In addition to this, we are currently developing a new feature for the website, the Maps & Mods tab, which will enable you to share your mods with other fans and track down the best mods out there. This feature is not ready yet, but our web developer (Open Dev Blog’s father Supacoco) is working hard to release it before the end of the year, and when finished it will be accessible to everyone from the Open Dev blog.

The Modding Kit is an extremely flexible, feature-rich tool, and we wanted to show you some examples of the amazing mods that it can produce. That is why a few weeks ago we contacted two modders from the MMX community--one from RPG Codex and the other a MMX Ultimate Adventurer from the Open Dev Blog! They are currently creating their own mods that will be available when the Maps & Mods feature goes live. If you too are interested in modding, then you should totally check out the following guide[mightandmagicx-legacy.ubi.com].
With the Modding Kit installed you can immediately start creating your own adventures or just have fun discovering all its features. However you use the kit, what you learn will be very valuable in the near future when a special modding contest is announced… Watch this space!

Now let’s check out what this second patch brings to MMX:

New features
  • New interactive objects have been added: Liquid Barrels and Buff Statues.
  • New game options. Barks can now be deactivated, and the same goes for game messages and floating damage numbers. You can now also change the opacity for tooltips and the quest/action log.
  • Korean language version is now available.
  • And last but not least, you can make your own notes on the Minimap. Check out our article about the Minimap notes feature[mightandmagicx-legacy.ubi.com]!

IMPORTANT NOTICES
  • Using old saves from previous versions of the game will cause issues. For example, items at the vendors will be displayed in the wrong order and items that you had in the inventory before installing the patch will be lost. Therefore, we recommend that you start a new game after updating the game.
  • For Uplay customers, it is crucial that all 3 parts of the 2nd patch are installed before loading the game.

Once again, we would like to thank everyone who helped bring this game forward with their comments, feedback and bug reports. Your contributions are very much appreciated, keep up the good work!

Cheers!

Your MMX team

What about Steam Workshop support for mods? It would be really awesome.

Ok, ok as I thought already that people's are realy greedy but to be SO.... its unnormal. I guess all those who know Unity's License agreement will send you in the part of body, that can be found abit lower you back. Just tell me about the person that will spend 1.5K $ for "your" modding tool?
$1,500 to be able to make mods ... Don't think so ... but thanks for the update

And dont forget : if you are in the beta-channel (for MMX:L) it will NOT download! works only (at least for me) if signed out of the MMX:L beta channel (i mean NOT the steam client beta itself)

Why did you even bother making the modding tool if it costs 1500$ to use?

Any extra game play added for this patch release or just the MOD kit + Bug fixes for Act 1?

Omg! After this patch in game FPS decreased! How? This is a great "optimisation improvement". Inventory broken, items was changed randomly. Armor is missing. Weapons too.

I dont know about u but for me its a HUGE difference in ingame FPS, from between 20-40 it went up to 40-80 and not just that i could now set everything to max, and have only 2gb ram and a hd5770 with a e6600@3.0ghz, now it runs almost smoothly, maybe i did overset my graphics settings but even if i did, its still as i said earlier a HUGE improvement, thx for this wonderful patch, keep them coming like that :)

AMD FX8320, HD5770, 16Gb RAM and average FPS 25 with medium graphic settings via HD resolution.

The MMX Modding Kit is available exclusively through Unity Pro.
And now everyone who wants to make their own mods must start a Kickstarter campaign.:snaggletooth:

I second this. So very, very, VERY much.

The modding kit is a really awesome idea, because with the recent releases of grid-based games I was thinking that "Hmm, I might have to finally go and make one of those." I'd much rather use an existing fully built engine and just make mine with that.

What does the modding tool do that needs pro? I happen to have gotten my job to buy me Unity Pro for some cross-platform internal apps so I'm not too worried about it, but I am curious as to why it is required. I know that it will trim down the pool to people that really want to make mods, but it seems like people would want to charge for their mods since they have to fork out a significant amount of money to make them.

At any rate, I'm excited to get home and mess with it, maybe try out some of the environment assets I've been buying lately. I'm a total asset junkie.

"Hey guys, here's an update that costs you $1500 to use! Game content? Why would we make any more of that when you can now?"

... great update...

Now that I have a chance to read the modding kit thing, looks like most of the stuff you need it for is when you want to export the created level. But you'll be able to make them with the frere version (minus a little bit of lightmap and occlusion stuff which probably won't affect you in the designer anyways) and then find a bud who will take your project and export it for you with a pro version (or save your pro trial until you're ready to start exporting it).
