Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe

Game won't start at all.
Hi! I just bought this game and it won't run at all. I click the "play" button from my steam library, my username in chat goes green and everything for a few seconds and then goes back to blue. Verified integrity of game cache, uninstalled and redownloaded, still the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm on a Mac, running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM. Not quite sure what else I should add.

Having the same problem, on Windows though.

EDIT: Solved, go into game folders. Steam\steamapps\common\Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe\_CommonRedist and go to either XNA and/or DotNet and run the installers inside 4.0. Try after that.

Glad you got it working! Unfortunately there's no _CommonRedist in my Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe folder on the mac :/

I'm in the same situation, icon flashes for a second before crashing and the game never starts. Also on a snow leopard Macbook.

Well, I'm not on a Mac but I am having the same issue. The game launches fullscreen and then I get a box saying the program has stopped responding and I have to close it.

I find it funny when cute little pixel games like this always give the BIGGEST problems.

You can find them under the local files for the game (right click on the game in your library -> properties -> local files -> browse local files-> spplog.txt) Thanks.

Logs would be awesome, to get them for the mac version, browse to the game app, right click and go "Show Package Contents", then go Contents->Resources->spplog.txt

For people on windows, I'm also curious what version of windows you're running?

I believe the issue for mac players is that the game only supports Mountain Lion right now. I'd like to look into support for Snow Leopard, I know a lot of people are still running it. That's going to take a bit of time though, I don't have a mac with that OS around, to get it I'll have to reinstall the OS on my dev machine.

Edited to add: The game says it's compatible with Mac OS 10.6.X on the store page so I assumed it'd work :s my bad for misunderstanding if so.

Vitamin, your crash has to do with a gamepad issue that I've fixed and will be patching later today, thank you for the log! J, the problem certainly seems to be an incompatibility with 10.6.X. I'll be working on a fix for this as soon as I can get a DVD to install 10.6 on my laptop D: If the game said it would work on 10.6.X then it should work on it, it's not your bad at all :). I'll have this sorted out as soon as possible.
