How are you supposed to get the gems that are higher up in the area? I was under the impression that you use the fans under the clouds after you get boosted by the lower fans on the sides, but no matter how many times I try, my character always hits his head on the block that's under the gold/silver fans blowing to the right/left. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Cyrus, did you manage to get it now? I know I'm a few days late, but you had the right idea.

Use the fans under the clouds and then go hold the direction you used to enter under the clouds (So on the left side, you'll be running right, on the right side, running left).

When getting launched from the highest fan, you can either let go of the direction (Holding it will cause you to overshoot into the fans launching you downward) or switch directions whle in the air. You can then double jump to get the gem/yarn.

Okay Cyrus, I am experiencing the exact same problem! It's really frustrating because I understand what needs to happen with the fans, and I can't see anything different in what I'm doing from what the video shows, but I keep hitting my head on the last block. Do you have any idea what you did that made it work differently for you?

Problem resolved! As it turns out, when my character shot through the fans at the bottom, the framerate was dropping immensely, so the game seemed to compensate for it by ignoring user input for some frames. This made it where I was always just shy of clearing the last ice block. The solution was to turn my video settings down. That is, the VSync and the Advanced Backgrounds.

TLDR: Hit your head on ice? Turn off VSync and Advanced Backgrounds

Yeah, that was the solution I found. I was playing on my laptop on Power Saver mode, which made the game run at <30fps. Wasn't a good thing at all. XD
