[Solved] How to use controller?

I have a xbox 360 controller and adapter for my pc, and it works on every game but battleblock. It says recomended controller to play, but how? Thanks.

Just dont press any buttons on your keybord, and when you see "press any button" then use your controller, should work

nope, im pressing any button and nothing happens, just stays on menu

Hi! BBT Steam only supports controllers that use the XInput or DirectInput APIs. Do you know what API your joysticks use? Could you please post the make and model of your control devices?

Please also keep in mind that you must restart the game every time you connect a gamepad to your PC for the game to recognize it.

Are you using the official Xbox 360 controller, or a different make/model that is built to be compatible with Xbox? Could you please post the make and model if it is the latter?

official xbox 360 controller that came with my console and i have an adapter

What happens if you completely uninstall your 360 controller drivers, and then reinstall them?

will give this a try on sunday because i cant now, its just weird that it works on all other games (ex- la noire, cod, etc.) and not on bbt. i tried on beta and after and still no good

make sure controller is turned on before launching game. should have no issues with 360 controller.

I'm having a similar problem. the controller is a Saitek R990. The device calibration software works fine, but the game doesn't recognize, well, anything.

Make sure the controller is on and connected to the PC before starting the game.
Use the controller and not the keyboard when asked to "press any button" right after starting the game.

Failing that, check if the controller is working on Steam's Big Picture mode and report back whether it is working or not.

By the way, I couldn't find anything about the model you mentioned. Did you write it correctly?

I Have Saitek ps 1000. It does work in big picture but when I start BBT and it asks "press any button" I am pushing all of the buttons but it does nothing what am I supposed to do?

From what Lindsay said on another thread, I think you should try finding and installing the latest drivers for your controller, which appear to be here[saitek.com]. Start by selecting "controllers" on the dropdown list that says "Choose your product type."

Can't be bothered to read all the posts.

If you turn on your Xbox controller after you've loaded the game it won't work. You have to turn it on before you start up. Annoying thing I've noticed.
