Hatty Hattington [Alternative Ending?]

Hi guys, is there any way to save Hatty Hattington in the game BattleBlock Theater?
The ending is kinda depressing, and I really wish I could save him.

Actually, if we go off the Game 4 lore, his soul forced the hat to fire a beam of energy which killed Honey Hug (the bear) and forced time and space into an awkward crowded relapse. So lucky for you, the ending is slightly more depressing than before! :D

Well, it is cool, and the joke about him becoming vegetable is awesome, but still I wish I could save Hatty. :(
