First thing I would do is make absolutely sure that you have the most up to date drivers for your GPU, BIOS, DirectX, ... for everything!
From your description (where windows could not boot properly) it sounds like there may be some overlying issues with your computer that may be preventing it from running BBT smoothly (and causing crashes/BSoD)
You can check out this link for more information about resolving BSoD for Windows 7: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/resolving-stop-blue-screen-errors-in-windows-7
And for Windows 8:

If it persists, please open up a Support Ticket with The Behemoth, including any information you can (what the BSoD error is etc.) and we'll do our best to help you out!

I use Windows 7, and how would I check my GPU/BIOS to update it? I think DirectX is the thing that all new games try to re-download and update when you start them and they need it?
The game runs fine, the issue are those two large lock-ups. Otherwise the game is pretty much well optimized, and only slightly lags in multiplayer, and even that is rare!
Do what Jay said. If that doesn't come up with a solution, scan your hard disk for bad sectors using Windows chkdsk. To check for overheating, download the tool "SpeedFan" to monitor your temperatures in realtime and make adjustments accordingly.
Edit: I say this because it could result in data loss or damage to your machine. It's better to be safe than sorry!
I did a chkdsk, and it didn't mention any bad sectors from what I wrote down...

Anyway, it happened a third time...By being in the first chapter's lobby...I...
I don't know why, I just finished 1-3 for insane mode, got a donut from my dad, and turn around to see it happened a third time. It went to a black screen instead of resetting on starting windows, so I had to reset it to get to system repair, which is currently running...I figured disabling V-Sync would help... :(
