Client can't reliably pick up boulders?
I host a game and my friend connects to me. If he tries to pick up a boulder while holding across at the same time, his character will spaz out and rapidly pick up and drop the boulder repeatedly with a good chance of it killing him in the process.

Happens much less often if he doesn't move while picking up a boulder... conveyor belts make it complex and increase the risk of it occuring even when my friend isn't holding across while picking up a boulder.

I took some video footage of it and can upload snippets of the bug transpiring to show what it looks like etc.

We both live in Australia (Opposite sides of it from each other) and the game feels as though it uses P2P so I'd hazard a gueess at around 70 to 100ms latency.

Hi there!! Thanks for reporting this -- yes, this is an issue that sometimes occurs due to latency issues. The game is indeed P2P.

This is something we're looking into, but unfortunately it is not an easy fix. :(

Thanks, aside from this the game is pretty good on Insane Difficulty. Do various chapters after Chapter 4 include boulders in their puzzles?

Can we just use Normal Difficulty for Chapter 4 then return to insane difficulty afterwards without further issues or are saves difficulty dependent?

But yeah this issue makes using boulders a very... none fun experience in Insane Difficulty.

This bug affects multiple users and has been confirmed. We need the Developer Team working on this.

A suggestion would be to make the character performing the action of picking up a boulder, being rendered invulnerable to boulder damage for a short moment (50 or 100ms?) or something. Alternatively have the Host trust the client in this situation instead of having the Host try to figure out what is happening and appling its logic to the client.
