Gem Exploit

There is some glitch which people are abusing for unlimited gems.

Are the developers fixing the problem? I just learned about it from someone, of course they neglected to tell me untill after they had traded me hacked gems for my items.

I hope this isn't true, this will probably ruin the game for me. After sinking over 200 hours to build up gems some cheater generating phony gems will make all that effort rather meaningless.

Yes but I am not explaining it unless the developler adds me, he did not add me before so I am not running around to report it. Like all the other exploits I have found in games its a waste of my time. I am sure he is aware of the glitch and people will abuse it, to make money on the market... You can get any hat you want like 1000 times with the exploit.. Other then some starheads. :P

Huh, I hope that they fix it as quickly as possible then, as well -if they can- remove the cheated gems.

Steam still has not fixed a exploit I found a long time ago to get premium and free items that are worth a lot on Team Fortress 2... Lucky if theses developers do something about this...

This is exactly the reason why I haven't made a thread, I was considering making one but decided against it.

I knew before I even owned this game I would find a exploit.. I just always find them. I have found four so far to do with getting items, but have not reported them for the reason I stated. Nor told anyone because I don't want people abusing it to make profit.

You already have abused it by trading me the illegitimate gems for my Behemoth Chicken, Paul, and Duck Shark heads... You just want to wring as much out before the market collapses. How noble of you...

Give back the heads you stole, unless you're just a greedy hacker. thanks

I am not making profit from this, this is the frist trade I have ever done with theses items. Being who I am It's like Steam does not give a flying ♥♥♥♥.. I did not steal any heads nor am I a hacker I am just here to collect items... Why should I even give them back since you called me a "hacker" hacking is not the same as exploting.. I would have nicely given you them back but you went offline :L

For all I know the items you gave me could of been duped, like half the items on the market for example look at the "Boot" on the market there is but ONE guy with over 100 of them... How did he get that much? simple... Same way I get all my boots but do you see me putting them up for sale?

I never trade items I get though exploits but this one time ONE TIME I was so close to getting all items in a game kinda got the best of me you know? Atlest I tried to add the developer.. He did not accepted thats his problem to be honest I don't know if he did or not.. I am not going though steam support or anything like that, Sorry.

Trading your items back is a waste of time you don't know what Gems other then the 50 have the IDs from our trade. But I am not a abuser so if you want your items you send me the offer. :)

Ill be out for a hour or two.
If I was "greedy" I would tell all my friends theses exploits and no one else.

bradenm the boots and that stuff is not an exploit is what they intended (really stupid choice but it is a choice none the less.)

you're right about the gems, I wouldn't want to give them back in case I give you the wrong ones back and mine end up disappearing.

The deal with the heads though, the devs have stated you can get unlimited of the current purple heads, it's just how it works. You don't have to dupe them, just fullfil the requirement to get the head without having one in your inventory.

Also I just used the word "Hacking" to sensationalize the topic, I suppose I should have titled it "Unlimited Gem Exploit"

I get the feeling there are others out there using it, and I didn't have a clue if you shared it with anyone, if you learned it on your own, read it on a forum or what. I just found it really messed up how you decided to tell me after we traded. The only logical response was to demand my items back. But I had to leave for awhile so I decided to create a thread since I was unable to have a conversation with you at the time.

If you want to make amends and keep the items then you could give me some trading cards or something legitimate of equivalent value. Otherwise I would just like the heads back. I'm sorry I called you a hacker, I understand the desire to find the holes in the game and what not, it is fun in itself. It just seems pretty shady what you did iby trading them to me for my non-exploited items, but thank you for coming clean about it.

If you don't mind losing progress...

Start in offline mode, then start the game up again in online mode. Play the first stage (first 9 levels and/or boss and encore if desired)...start in offline mode...rinse and repeat. You don't keep your level progress but you keep your gems and yarn balls.

This does indeed need to be fixed,...and is already mentioned in two threads.

I have only told you because I traded items I know I sould not have.

I never tell people how to do theses things even people I know in real life.. Sure I told them I found a exploit but never fully explain how to do it. I don't tell them or make videos because I know it can destory games economys. We do not want any of that! I just report bugs all the time for non-alpha games and get nothing in return they don't even get fixed.. I have reported so much exploits and bugs I just cannot be stuffed anymore.. Also to get told something by a moderator for a game I reported about 10 pages of bugs for, made me pissed the hell off! I am sorry. :(

I am not giving you any cards for it.. Only the with the same trade we did before.
