Single player story mode and co-op (two player) story modes are entirely different as they use different maps tailored to either a single player or two players. That's why you are seeing two different save progress when you go from single to two player modes. This is also why a second player cannot join in the middle of a single player story run. Hope this clarifies things!
Does this help clear things up for you? Let us know if you have any other questions.
And yes, i mean Local co op
if you continue off of your singleplayer run, why does it give you a option for a second player to join (in local co op, when your friend is playing with a controller or simply couch co op) when you can't even join?
If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for playing!
