Lu Bu is the highest point of officer to officer combat which is fine. Going forward I hope more of the legendary officers get the unique treatment he got. They will change up how they fight based on health, parry your parry, have moves unique to just them etc.
Actually, with patience and right timings you can remove 2/3 of his HP or even lower before he eliminates all your allies.
But afterwards yes, it's a duel, with a lot of patience.
What I would recommend is to switch weapons inbetween - use crescent blade or gauntlets for armor removal, while Halberd is a main damage dealer (do 5-1 combo for max damage).
Id say they should just keep the BS in ultimate warrior difficulty (especially since its a mandatory fight) and keep a lower morale lu bu in other diffs (morale is what makes him tanky and a dumb grind).
If it was hu lao Lu Bu when he was smashing people left and right then it makes sense for him to be that strong. But really in xia pi? No way
Like 7-8 times, before the game progresses to the next stage of the fight and makes him supersayian. Which once you figure it out is a trivial "have you saved your musou for a rage?" check.
All 3 chevron enemies need HP to be toned down, but Lu Bu in particular.
Lu bu without healing in UW
it actually does matter i've done all the endings in vagabon difficulty or Normal ( and i had a harder time the first go ) the second go i went with the hallebard which went pretty smouthly if you ask me took some damage off course but i did it without needing healing
NOW that certainly won't be the case in Ultimate warrior difficulty
Watching all my allies fall instantly while I perfect dodge and parry things. Seeing my health drop to almost 0 after getting hit just once. It was an adrenaline rush, and I loved that it felt like an actual boss fight.
Something else I liked is that it encouraged me to really think about my build. What enhancements are on my weapon, which accessories do I have equipped, what items am I bringing?
Definitely can see why some people hated it, but it was seriously the Lu Bu fight I've always wanted. Bringing him down made me feel like the hero everybody kept saying I was.
