...alright, just did the full on sidequest for Diaochan. It's confirmed - the devs were pissed that Diaochan hooked up with Lu Bu and then died in ignominy as a trophy for Guan Yu.

They straight up rewrote the frickin book to force a love connection with the prettyboy.
