As for relationships, Romance of Three Kindgoms, on which Dynasty Warriors are actually based, is faithfull to its name. Its been full of bromance between allied characters, both in the writings themselves and DW games as well. Though i admit they cranked it to 13 when it comes to MC. Might be affluenced by his appearance.
I just became aware of the dialogue in this game while looking up if I want to purchase it. Been playing Musou (Dynasty / Samurai / Gundam / Hyrule / Pirate Warriors) games since Dynasty Warriors 4, and platonic admiration was always expressed in a very distinguishable way for Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
Warriors Orochi 4 definitely raised an eyebrow at times by hinting at secret homosexual trysts, but I can overlook it when the cast comprises of three entire games' characters. Like, even stretching the dialogue and just adding these in because it's 'trendy' would have been unsurprising, so I didn't pay it much mind.
Having aggressively playersexual characters seems like a huge bait. A lot of these pseudohistorical figures are the epitome of masculinity & femininity, so making them act in a way that might be seen as undignified & contrary to established historical records may be insulting. It's sort of like the Yasuke/Ubisoft drama, except with a lot more documentation against which you could compare the characterization.
Not going to jump to conclusions on that front, personally, but characters throwing homosexual dialogue out of the blue definitely hurts the experience for me. Maybe I'll wait for it to go on sale, but... I dunno. I'll have to wait for a second-hand opinion on the game.
The better question is, why aren't *you* acting more gay towards Ziluan? I hear he's a handsome warrior with the most observant of eyes~!
Ha ha! I'm not saying there aren't instances, but the OP seems to imply almost everyone is. I don't see that.
When Lu Bu of all people goes, "I will make you mine," it might as well be. :P
Good thing no one plays these games for their writing, though.
When I saw him say that, it made me dislike the writing in this game to actively hating it lol.
