Why is everyone acting so gay towards Ziluan?
I don't mean this in a derogatory way or anything but I have noticed a lot of bond interactions with the other officers just come of as very homosexual. It's never really spelled out but half the conversations sound like innuendos.

Am I alone or did someone else notice this?

Bcs our character is a ♥♥♥♥ gender fluid emo twink.

Most exchange he has with others are not "friendly", they are just "♥♥♥♥ erotics" may you agree or not. It is as true as saying fire burns. People may deny it, but in the end, fire still burns.

Made a response but on second read it felt REALLY mean. lol Honestly its cause this time period is supposed to be "innocent" no one means anything by how they come across and are kind of childish in their friendships(from my culture anyway). Gotta remember this game takes place over a 1000 year ago(I think I may have screwed that up) and is a completely different way of life to the modern day world. Even then some cultures males are way friendlier to each other than they are in other cultures like holding hands and even cheek kisses. Joined my countries military and got a briefing on culture shocks like that so we hopefully wouldn't offend them during an accidental reaction to it. lol

Mhm yea thats fair I suppose. I am not really in the know when it comes to ancient chinese culture.

Its just funny to me when for example Lu Bu tells you that you are the only other thing in the entire world he cares about besides being strong and that he will hunt you down to "have you".

That sounds like some Hisoka ♥♥♥♥ from HunterXHunter or Kenpachi from Bleach. lol Like he can't wait to kill you and it turns him on but because you are strong even though it comes off more...perverted than it should. lol I know in this story though he has a deep affection to Daiochan though so that shouldn't be the case....but man I just defeated him and I'm really wondering where the hell she went. lol Thought for sure she was gonna have another big part to play leading up to his defeat after her initial in-depth character arc.

also it might be a cultural thing. things most westerners see as not normal or bad are pretty common place in other cultures. i think this is chinese? and im not super sure. but as an example its common in the middle east for men to hold hands as a sign of friendship. they are also big on kissing for greetings. im not saying ones right or wrong just saying that cultures are different
People definitely didn't read the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, where Liu Bei and Zhao Zilong part ways holding hands in tears, or Liu Bei stating that meeting Zhuge Liang was like "a fish meeting water"

Or Sun Quan telling Zhou Tai to take off his shirt to tell the story of his scars

Or everyone so in awe with Guan Yu's beard they called him "The Man with the Magnificent Beard"

It’s just a cultural thing. What we see as homoeroticism is supposed to friendship.

To most westerners it is a little... Odd, but most of it is generally just being really friendly. Its kinda hard to see when every western relationship has to be sexual in some way.

I was actually going to ask this same question. I mean, good lord.

Based. Though tbh there's no way Gan Ning wasn't into the twink. I'm also 99.9% sure I cucked Zhuge Liang by boding w/ his wife.

I think the MC was ment to be a female originally, and we are playing what was ment to be a dating sim.

Or the translators are having fun with us. Some of these dialogues are meme worthy.

Yhe love this game buts its kinda gayish. Wish there was way to be friends or romance option. Only 1 bond i liked was with Zhuge Liangs wife, funny one ;p
Nah bro, this ♥♥♥♥ ain't just cultural differences, the 3 kingdoms is straight up romancing our main character. The women do it to though and arguably more aggressively. Like Yueying really heavily implies you sleep together when you "spend all night taking ALL your measurements" which she then uses to make a perfect anatomically correct doll of you because she will miss you when you're not there. Like, come on guys. They aren't even subtle.

Theres also no way to interpret Lu Bu's final bond as anything other than homoerotic. Have you guys read it? Some of the max bonds aren't that aggressive but some are definitely really sus.
It is pretty dramatic all around, that is for sure. Like, you take a walk with Diaochan, and that is enough for her to go "I will literally remember this 'til my dying breath. This walk we just had will be my number 1 motivator for the rest of my life." Then there are all the scenes that are like "I know we just kicked each others asses in the last battle, but I want to kiss you on the mouth. Also, join my clan."

Doesn't bother me in the slightest, just makes me chuckle at how awkward it all sounds.

For the most part its a cultural thing i guess? But there are some scenes where my gaydar started beeping as well and that go beyond 2 Guys just sharing affection between eachother....

Would have been cool if the game gave you dialogue options to keep things formal if you are not interested,But i don't mind it too much.
