so I was just looking in the store to see about buying this game, why are the only options the special addition and the early access version when the game is already supposed to be released?

That should be early purchase, not early access.
The "Early Purchase" version is available until Jan. 30.

Koei often runs early purchase versions for the release month containing some small doodads.

Until January 30th every version of the game gives you an early purchase bonus of the soundtrack collection. It's a free bonus, that you aren't paying any extra for.

No need to wait if you want to play now.

Again, Early PURCHASE, not early ACCESS....
Until Jan 30. every purchase will get the soundtrack for free, That's it.
But yes, if you don't want a free gift, you have to wait til February... O.o
