Mastering combat arts question

Does mastering them count as how many kills you get with them, or how many uses?

Also is the mastery benefit permanent/effects all combat arts? thank you.

Pretty sure it's Times Used, not KO's from use.

Also wondering about the effects myself.

Judging by the wording I am assuming it is ALL battle arts.

The problem is the wording on the arts themselves implies it's all of them but the tutorial states "If you use a Battle Art enough times, you will eventually master it. Once mastered, a Battle Art gains additional effects such as increased strength."

Pretty sure it only applies to that specific art or else the ones that drop their cost by 1 would be pretty nuts.

it just counts uses and it only affects the art itself. No reason not to spam out as many uses as you can after a mission ends before it fades out to rewards screen as well since that still counts.
