Game does not detect my controller

I'm using a regular ps5 controller, it has worked in every game up until this one. I've tried x360ce, ds4windows, enabling and disabling steam input, updating windows, updating the controllers firmware, restarting steam, restarting my computer, disabling and updating device drivers. Steam input is detecting my controller and its inputs, but the game is not. With ds4windows, with the controller set to gamepad preset, the most the game will detect is mouse passthru on the controller touchpad. No actual button inputs are registered. When i go ingame, new game, and progress to advanced settings to access controls, the game pauses thinking the controller is disconnected.

I'm about at wits end. There are no relevant google searches. Spam websites with generic troubleshooting tips like "restart steam" and "wait for a patch". The few results that pop up for other people with controller issues with DW:Origins have no clue what theyre talking about, everyone says "oh idk my controller works sorry", or the OP somehow gets it working by restarting steam which ive already done numerous times.

I can play any game with this ps5 controller. I can play any game with my 360 controller. I can not play dynasty warriors: origins with either controller.

I was having the same issue as you. I was able to get the game to detect the PS5 controller after going to: Steam Settings->Controller->PlayStation Controller Support, then set to "Enabled"
Mine was set to "Enabled in Games w/o Support" and this one single game would not recognize dualsense unless the above setting was changed.

I have flydigi controller and it is works only with steam controller support, but this overheats my CPU

In Properties > Controller, set the override to "Use default settings". The controller will only work then. It requires the steam API inputs for the controller to work.

played 44 hrs, Completed it via joining Wu, Controllers had no hiccups, maybe your controller or wires are damaged.

My controller keeps disconnecting just in this game for some reason, using a PS4 controller.
Tried using different usb ports, but the issue persist from time to time, just random and short term, then it goes away for few hours.

But if I use the bluetooth, no issues whatsoever, so I think my usb ports might be borked or the firmware might be lacking behind in the controller itself.

Im getting the same issue. Havent been able to get a controller to work for this game since the beginning of Feb, its ridiculous.

Tried a third party Manba controller, still nothing. Works for all my games but Dynasty warriors. Clearly a DW issue.
