I agree 100%, my take as well, it's extremely bizarre seeing all of the near perfect reviews for it, believe a lot of those reviews aren't from actual players.
Have you watched YouTube reviews by people who have a history of enjoying Dynasty Warriors games? What do they think?
I have, mostly mixed, though a lot of positive, one spent 70% of the video talking about its shortcomings and then gave it an 8, hard to tell what's real sometimes. I think what's here is great, though blown away by how anemic the content is for the price, one playable character, no true replay modes, just really taken back by how gimped this game is, in the big scheme of things in comparison to previous offerings.
And yeah the game is a bit dull sadly
I remembed big battles who last long but this one its so fast when u look only for big officer
And ur allies are extremely weak for some reason u can easily loose the battle in less than 5 min if ur not chasing for better officier
And we have now skirmish who last less than 2 min ? what the point of this lol
basically u kill 20 soldiers u have the big guy who come 30 sec after that u kill him and its over
I dont want to play this weird femboy who have no background but dope guys such as Lu bu
Prob the laziest DW i played
Great points, this immediately jumped out in the demo, all of the other soldiers were just there for no reason, it's go for the boss and move on, if not, mission fail, very weird approach. I know previously the regular troops were fodder as well, though they were a major part of clearing areas in preparation of officers, now, it's all or nothing, hahaha.
If the game has the mechanics it has now but going forward increases the roster size and weapon count would that be a bad thing or a good thing? As far as the price is concerned that is just an "oh well" disposable money and disposable time for a video game.
Likely this series will just keep churning out more games. If you are asking for these kinds of mechanics and unique animations across the roster of 70+ characters they have introduced over the years in the reboot damn do you have a positive outlook on life.
Dynasty Warriors 6 with it's renbu system was terrible and they released some open world type one not all that long ago that was pretty bad too. This is better than those in just the 30 minutes I've spent with it.
I watched a few and they were all positive, but I don't have much experience with the series so it's hard for me to compare them. What would you say is the best one that has the most depth this game doesn't have?
I recommend DYNASTY WARRIORS 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition, it has an insane amount of content, same for the Warriors Orochi Games, particularly 3 and 4. Basically, any of the previous games, even going back to original PS, have more content than this. The series has been destroyed by KT's agreed though, IMO, they mostly exist now for DLC, this game will have at minimum, $100 in DLC, probably 5x of that, truth be told.
This game is NOT Dynasty Warriors 10. Its something different. Now lets hope they take the good stuff in this one and put it all towards 10 and 10 Empires. That would be awesome.
I have over 300hrs in DW9, I agree, it wasn't the right direction, though got a lot of unessary hate, IMO, of course, agree, though getting a wishbone vice the turkey for content is surreal, this is hands down, unquestionably, the lowest content to date, even Touken Ranbu Warriors had way more content, LOL.
Sorry but this is a great entry in DW series.
Permanently playable officers with bigger roster and more weapon variants, branching stories from 8 and get the combat gameplay, graphics, level design and cutscene quality from DW Origins and slap them together.
Yeah, 9 was a misstep. That’s fair. But to say we should be happy for one uncustomizable character, 10 weapons, short battles, long cutscenes, everyone talking the OC like a lover, extreme cutaways to show something happening somewhere else when you’re just trying to to time a parry, no free mode, no bonus modes, and only one campaign with seemingly only one or two choices you’ll make that matter all because it’s an improvement over 9 doesn’t mean the series is going in the right direction. We don’t want a game that’s better than 9, we want a game that’s better than 6,7, and 8.
