I'm happy with how Origins turned out on Steam/PC, but the game was pretty much designed with Next Gen Console and PC in mind, so it wasn't just a shameless port.
While yes this game has seen 25K players now, it's going to drop probably down to 10K within a week, due to people beating the game, and dropping it.
Much like every other Dynasty Warriors game, that isn't "Empires", the replay value is very limited, so, I wouldn't expect people to continue playing this too much after the first week. I know when I beat it, I'll probably drop it, I do plan on beating all the diff factions Wu, Shu, and Wei, then then maybe dabble in the "New Game+" for a little bit, then probably drop it, because there will be nothing left to do.
With the amount of work Origins did on redesigning characters, they honestly should have just let us play as other characters than a random no-named NPC that has absolutely nothing to do with the historic value the game actually has.
That being said Ziluan isn't a terrible character to add to the roster of all the other fake historical figures. Just would have been more interesting to play as the actual heroes themselves.
So DWO now reaching 50k players is an amazing achievement and i'm so happy for that. :D
