I don't get how anyone can justify these voice actors
Why are they pronouncing Lu Bu as LOUIE BU
Its LU BU.

Coz the eng dub is an afterthought. You want real authentic feel, play it in Chinese voice.

It's clearly not on the VA but the direction when the entire cast pronounces Lu as Louie.

Now how they say Sun Ce might be on the VA.

Thats not true because some soldier lines still say
"Is that Lu Bu?"
You forget that in the older games cao cao was cow cow from incorrect pronunciation.
Actually I'm pretty that happens in 9
And you can probably find it in this game.

I also think it's the direction, not the VA. I mean, any guy who doesn't even know chinese would pronounce the name right, so I'm pretty sure it's the direction.

Just as in previous games everybody would actually pronounce "Cao Cao" and afterwards they changed to "Tsao Tsao"

Okay but
Lu is pronounced Lu in english
not louie.
Also other Lu-clan characters don't have this.
same with cao

Cao cao was cao cao in 5(?) 7 8
and in 2 3 (maybe 4) it was cow cow.

I speak mandarin, so if the game say Lu bu name as Lu, it is actually weird. If you go google “吕布” which is Lu bu chinese name, its actually not Lu. Its like the Cao Cao thing all over, “曹操” as his chinese name, if you read it like Cao Cao, it actually becomes "靠靠“.

If this game is based on chinese history, name should be read out correctly instead of using general english way of speaking alphabets.

My man
go watch three kingdoms.
Cao cao and Lu bu are pronounced like that in Mandarin.

IF YOU SWITCH THE GAME TO CHINESE THEY PRONOUNCE THEM LIKE THAT.

I watched the three kingdom, produced in 1994, i have the cd, its kept well, my mandarin is scored 80+/100 average in high school, i am just speaking facts. Like i said, just go search and listen how their name is being spoken. There is 0 chance that i am in the wrong.

Also fyi, if you type "Lu" in any chinese input method, you can never search ”吕“ which is Lu in his name, you need to type "Lv" to search it, if we write down english alphabet on paper in test, the v part is a u with 2 dots on the head of both side, its never pronounced as "u".

bro chinese has like this essay which consists of just.. 50 different chin chins, i find it hard to believe that most english VA would get chinese pronounce right lol

true
The different tones of a word changes what it means.

I'm just saying if you just put the words "Lu Bu" in the front of an average person who doesn't speak chinese, and ask them to pronunce the name, that person will pronounce "Lu Bu", not "Liu Bu" or "Loui Bu"
Come on...its a game set in China, use the Chinese voice option!

DW 6 has the best English Dub ever because it's a perfect mix of campy and serious.

I later came to realize it wasn't SUPPOSED to be campy, but when the narrator straight faced the increasingly ridiculous story about Lu Bu climbing the mountain to fight the zombies and ghosts of all the powerful foes he'd slain and the narrator just steel manned it never even flinched, I thought that was hilarious.

But it was made in japan and the english voice actors used to be good.
