How soon can I play as a female character?

Just started playing, and I dont like bootleg Kirito so I was wondering how soon can I swap him out? I prefer to play as my own sex and I love dynasty warriors

Sorry, this game only has 1 playable character. You will sometimes be able to partner with an officer that lets you switch to them for a brief time, so that's the only chance to play as a female officer, and it's going to be rare.

you can only shortly use her when having her as a companion.
other then that, you're stuck with bootleg Kirito 100% of the game.

Weird strawman here. I do really love DW, but you have to understand that in this series it is a known feature to be able to play as other characters. Not a nameless wanderer kirito bootleg with a hyper cliche origin. Having other characters be relegated to essentially an 'ultimate' is just way too different and I can love a game but want to play as my own sex but find it disparaging when a common feature in any DW game is now not present in the most recent. That being the ability to play as other characters

Apparently they might be release customizing later down the road, and it'll include gender swap so they say....

As for the other officers swap yes it stinks, but this is a new installment of the series with different aspects. Hence why it's called Origins and not dw10. (Story aspect) so tbh it's to be expected to have change. Not the change i would of thought like yourself but change nonetheless.

it would have been just as easy to just swap like that first woman you meet who is in the same garb as the MC just so when you start the game who ever you pick will be the other one in place of her then you get to play as male or female the MC is mostly silent

When we get back to form with Dynasty Warriors 10 (or Samurai Warriors 6), and we get the awesome roster of characters we'd rather be playing (legends who actually accomplished things, not a made-up nobody) back.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Lu Linqi or Ginchiyo Tachibana in 4k with hair and cloth physics (whichever we get first.)

Hoping when that day comes they give open world a 2.0. That overland map is so 1980s Dragon Warrior... and not in a good way. They were definitely onto something with the RPGesque feel, they just needed to let it cook longer (and give it a bigger budget).

Origin was originally named DW10 it was cancelled due to being too different from the old installations

Also let me break OP bubble within same reply. Sho said if the game is success they will continue with a sequel where you continue to play with only one character for the other half of story.

So expect Empire and all those roster? Good luck try not to support Koei for coming year to send your niche preference message. Oh it gonna be long long wait to get to play your power fantasy female again you can be that sure.
