Even the final battle in wei post chibi were actually big and tough, making it seem like its the true ending/rout.
Wei route however has a real hypothetical even though it's still minor. You save Dian Wei and he doesn't just decide to retire or fake his death and is actually in the rest of the battles and then Guo Jia is the same way and then in the battle of chi bi you need both alive for guo jia to predict the fire attack allowing you to stop it and win the campaign and unite the land (which also means you don't fight the battle of huorang pass on the true route).
