good question
It's 100% of the origins of the 3 kingdoms, which is what the game is trying to be.

As Wandering says, Origins covers story before the 3 Kingdoms.

No other Dynasty Warriors has had this much story pre-Chi Bi as Origins has. The amount of story this game has is burning some players out.

Where if you wanted immediate coverage of the other events after Chi Bi, there's 7, 8, 9, the novel, and the TV series without the Ziluan component.

The rest of story is likely on sequel. Sho does promise a sequel if this one does well and even shares a few more feature for sequel like I dunno...something like "possibly offering a customizable character design system where players could freely create the protagonist’s appearance, with options for both male and female characters." or something.

Btw if you want real reason why it ends on Red Cliff it's because.> “We chose the Battle of Red Cliffs as the story’s time point mainly because it serves as a very fitting endpoint for Dynasty Warriors: Origins,” and something like "as one of the most famous battles in the Three Kingdoms, by building up to the Battle of Red Cliffs on new immersion can help new players get into the game quickly and spark their interest in the entire Three Kingdoms story" and the game took the name Origins because it's bold new direction that's all too different to be called DW10 compare to previous game, that's all he said.

Look up interview yourself.

Rest of the game? The way this game is paced I am glad it ends at Chi Bi. I just finished Wei and I am not too thrilled about going through all the Wu and Shu stuff given how much dialogue scenes there are and yeah at a certain point I just button mashed through dialogue.

Do I want a battle of He Fei? Yes. Do I want Wu Zhang Plains? Yes. Do I want to get there by going through all of the stuff in-between as it is paced currently? Hell no.

It took me ~40 hours to complete one storyline. That's a pretty good amount of game.

It doesn't feel like there's a real payoff for Red or Green with their hypothetical routes. I haven't done the blue side yet, but I imagine Chibi turns out differently? If not, then there's no payoff for them either, which makes the hypothetical routes useless.

Maybe they wanted to keep the story centered on these characters instead of introducing new NPCs. Also, the current batch of NPCs start dying off pretty quickly after this. I feel like it would be a different story at that point - or a repeat of what we've done. Building 'bonds' with all the new NPCs.

Wei hypothetical route cause them to win at Chibi due to failed fire attack.

I figured this was the case. That's how it was in DW8 as well. At least one of the three stories gets a payoff for the hypothetical route.

You know you can just skip the scenes entirely instead of mashing through the dialogue?

It is a nice in-between to use in case a character I like wants to say something. Skipping the scene entirely will be nice for Shu and Wu though.
I hope they release an extreme legends DLC where you can play the main characters for a play through.. Would be surreal to play Lu-bu on this game

Friend and I have been talking about it and we'd love an Empires game with this engine and combat gameplay. Just give us more weapons and the ability to make custom officers and kingdoms and it'd be amazing.

You can basically already play as Lu Bu after you unlock the Halberd.

I did ask that question in another older post, I mean this is a expensive game, and yet they only give us half of the story line, and they dont even bother to recorded a voice for the player char, even all none essential npc have a voice, like the boy that travel with him and the service man as well, but nope, not our main story char

maybe they will come out with Origin 2 to make us pay more money just to finish the game

Funny that everyone still says "You are a true warrior of the Three Kingdoms", yet 90% of the story takes place before any of it has even formed.
