Struggling to finish off Lu Bu

I am up to the Lu Bu fight in Xia Pi and I get his health down to a sliver (has to be under 5%) when he says to "be proud of yourself..." After so many attempts I cannot seem to kill him despite hitting him many times and not seeing his health deplete at this point in the fight.

I have tried leveling my character up a bit, different weapons, using different items, etc. but I cant seem to beat him. I play on the normal difficulty setting.

Any tips for defeating him?

keep your ultimate thing until his "ultimate" phase and finish him off using it

game says you should be lv 37... im lv 50 and cant chip off his shields fast enough even with 10 points of bravery before his rage bar maxes and it starts all over?!

I just beat him. Just save your rage mode for his final stance and knock off his shield really quick.

You don't see his health go down because.... well, his health won't go down at this stage of the fight

You have to focus on breaking his shield before he uses his ultimate musou attack (if he does, he will recover his shield). When you do, your final assault will finish him off.

The weapon I recommend for this is the Podao with the burning Battle Art. That breaks through shields like a charm, even without Rage Mode (though if you save Rage Mode for this part of the battle, even better)

I used the podao with the burning art + the rage mode and he went down pretty quickly. Thank you!

The key is making sure you have at least two bars of Musou left when he starts his final stage power up. Then spam basic attacks (NOT Battle Arts as they drain your meter really quickly).

That's what I did when I beat him on Ultimate Mode NG+ with no healing items. But I was also using the Rampaging Luan, so that probably helped too.
