I cannot beat lu bu at xiapi castle, the allied officers are useless and die too quickly.

Have you considered lowering the difficulty (unless its already below wayfarer)?
You can block every attack at the easiest difficulty, but at wayfarer and above, you either need to dodge or parry his attacks to gain lots of bravery to fuel your skills with to keep depleting his fortitude shields.

If you have trouble getting the parry or dodge timing right, sometimes weapons drop with the perk that improve one of the two to make it easier to perform, but you need to grind a bit for those to drop from the officers.

The spear has a battle art that puts you into a parry stance for several seconds and only costs one bravery, so you could try using that and you wouldn't have to worry about the timing much,

Approach it like a souls boss if you have played any. take time to learn the moveset. Then its just a battle of attrition from there, only part that might be a struggle is breaking his fortitude for his ultimate musou at the end, cause if you don't break it in time he just goes into the same cycle again.

Be determined, learn the moveset. He's an iconic figured for a reason. (My stubborn ass fought him until i beat him during the assassination of dong zhuo mission and hu lao gate)

I used spear and sword against him. Both have something that can send him flying up in mid air then I juggle him. Survive his attacks and repeat.

On wayfare I used the Lance, his attacks allowed me to quickly charge up and hit him back, then heal most of the damage he dealt to me. Just gotta dodge the unparryable attacks. Took two tries but thats because I was not ready for his musou rage phase at the very end.

The allies are supposed to be useless and in reality its a 1 on 1 fight. The peons and other officers are just there for dramatic/story purposes.

allies are supposed to be defeated in this fight, and it's finishing on 1 V1.

Use Podao and spam fire skill. I beat him on hero difficulty with this weapon. after stuck on his final phase for hours. can't break him fast enough. I go google and found someone said use Podao with fire skill. oh boy I beat him first try after change weapon. that skill break him stupid fast.

tldr. keep your rage mode for his final phase and spam fire skill with Podao.
