Game Doesnt Save
Played for like 1.5 hrs went back to main menu no save games, Tried replaying a bit then manually saving and got an error code(forgot to record it I can grab it later on). Not sure if this is an issue with the older games and there is a fix already or whats going on.

Yeah I realize that my firewall already lets the game through, unfortunate.

To anybody with similar issue fixed my problems,

- Right clicked the exe and opened compatibility and turned on run application as admin
- Make sure the game is allowed through firewall
- I also premade the folders where the save would be and tried putting my friends save files in there but dont think that helped as it didnt even load the save but hey atleast the folders are now intialized.

I tried the run as admin & the controlled folder access, but those didn't seem to help me. I -think- my issue is that my saves are going into a MyDocuments folder that's on onedrive, so it trying to sync is preventing a save from overwriting itself and giving me the corrupted error. Going to try and disable the MyDocuments folder from being synced from onedrive tomorrow and hopefully that helps.

it has to do with antivirus or windows security, maybe you play from illegal games

That was it! I turned off Dropbox syncing for the save folder in Documents\KoeiTecmo and now my game is able to save correctly. I couldn't figure out how to do it any way other than manually, so here's the steps for anyone using Dropbox:

1. Open Windows Powershell
2. run this command: Set-Content -Path 'C:<YOURPATHHERE>\Documents\KoeiTecmo\DYNASTY WARRIORS ORIGINS' -Stream com.dropbox.ignored -Value 1

(replace with the appropriate path of course)

You realise the OP has the game in the steam library right? you can literally click on their profile.

Just to add to this. I'm also unable to save. Just been playing for about 5hrs and only tried manually saving when prompted at the end of Chapter 1. Realised all save slots are empty including Auto Save, despite seeing the save symbol appear multiple times whilst playing.

Only got an error when manually saving. Every slot I try to save in I get "Save Failed. 0x5EB1A235". Still have my game open and running as I really don't want to have to lose 5+hrs of game play... :steamfacepalm:

Anyone repair this issue?
Try with everyone method but can save only once. The rest was failed
met same error code after I active one trainer, then both save/load will be error, game still run smoothly, so maybe some kind of anti cheat issue/bugs.

For anyone landing here from Google - this is most likely caused by a sync engine i.e. Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox as @Hehehe426 mentioned above.

I sync my personal folders (documents, desktop, et cetera) with Google Drive. Removing the documents folder (which contains the Origins save) from Google Drive before playing resolved the problem, then just turned it back on after I'm done. It's painful. There is no way to exclude specific folders or file types in Google Drive so that's the only option for those users, sadly.

At least until the developers figure out a fix. I don't have this issue with any other game.
If you are using OneDrive, you can get the "Save Failed. 0x5EB1A235"
So disable OneDrive syncing before playing. Happened to me and not happened after that, as the save is located in the Documents\KoeiTecmo\DYNASTY WARRIORS ORIGINS\Saved\SaveGames\SteamUserIDNumber\
I'm having the same issue. Can't save. I don't understand.

Ha! What a joke. So not only is it a feature that players can't save during battles, it seems there's a tenacious bug preventing saves all together. I'm glad I decided not to buy.

In case anyone comes across this there was a guide provided by Koei, in my case it was google drive sync being turned on. Here are the things to check in a step by step.
