DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS

View Stats:
Low frame rate - 5950X + RTX 4090
Just tried out the first chapter and starting area is around 59 to 80 fps which is ok, but once I get to the guard tower where it’s the first time you have a bunch of soldiers on screen - fps drops to 40 something and stays there.

Settings are maxed out. Turning on DLSS to quality does nothing, but in theory, with this game, I shouldn’t need to be turning on DLSS.

Any thoughts / help would be much appreciated.

For what it's worth the game was tested with a 4090 24 GB as of August 2024: https://www.koeitecmoamerica.com/dw_origins/us/products/steam_spec.html

3060 ti 1440
ryzen 5 7600
I'm able to keep constant 100 fps
cutscenes are locked @ 60
my 4080s got this problem too, and the game only cost 60% usage of my gpu. And just update my driver it got 100% usage and constain 100+fps now.
7800x3D
4080s
3440x1440 resolution
only DLAA no frame gen

Wondering if there are any notes that come with the new Nvidia driver update. Often they report the game fixes they have in them. A new game like this is going to need that. Its one reason I never play a game when it first comes out. Too many headaches.
Ahhhhh! I haven’t updated the gpu driver in a while. I’ll do that and see if it is better. Thanks!

it sounds like your cpu limited. I get a solid 120 capped with a 4090 and 7950x3d. Check your gpu utilization. If its not maxed out most likely your cpu limited.

Try turning off Anti-aliasing. Game defaulted to TAA for me, and I've always had a bad time with it, although I'm running a 4060 TI so yours should be way more potent

I couldnt help myself so I got the ""unofficial"" version for now. Everything max 4k except textures on high and DLSS quality I'm hitting my framerate limit of 110 most of the time with dips to 90s when I got to the first guard tower. My drivers are also months old & CPU is 5800x.

I'd suggest DDU your drivers and do a fresh install if updating your drivers doesnt work as something is not right there, you should be getting double my performance with a 4090.

At first I Thought the CPU would be the bottleneck..... nope.

Must be graphics settings
I DDUed and didn’t fix the fps - latency went to 10k lol. HDMI soundbar no longer detected.

Am reinstalling Windows as we speak 😊

Will see if this fixes anything.

Well, I dled the “wallet friendly” version and even though for some reason it won’t let me use DLSS, I’m now getting an avg fps of 150 at native resolution, no frame gen.

That’ll do me.

I have it set to 120 FPS, and it stays right at it. Using custom params to run a higher resolution for 5120x1440. Also have a 4090, but an intel 14900KS.
how are you playing it with dldsr? I cannot get it to recognize anything my native 3440x1440 on both full screen and borderless
