While yes arbitrary early days of access by paying more for games is a dumb trend, you can just simply save that money and wait however many days until it releases for normal price. No one is forcing you to play it as soon as possible. It's a single player game so it's not like you're going to fall behind in experience or unlockables for a PVP mode.
Just wait, it's not that hard. You waited all this time since they announced the game to begin with.
It's the principal of it. The "extras" are all just bundled crap, they're milking people for an extra 20 to play on it's real release date.
The entire company has become a toxic pit of greed and I hope they continue to decline and eventually fail completely.
They're chopping up the game and making you pay more for each part that was already existing in previous versions.
From the fine print -

Koei Techmo are (for me) famous for their greed. They have been milking the Romance of the Three Kingdoms/ Nobunaga's Ambition games for a while now.
Nobunaga's Ambition:Sphere of Influence was an amazing game!
Then they released a semi sequel to it which is the same but with some improvements. It released Jul 20 2022 for 60 USD.
Know how much it costs now?
60 USD.
They havent dropped the price in all this time, outside of sales which were rare for the first year and a half i was eager to buy it.
Im looking at the Dynasty Warriors catalouge for Koei Techmo on steam. Im not a fan of Dynasty Warriors myself but im looking forward to DW:Orgins on PS5.
I could have sworn DW:9 wasnt very well received. Yet its still selling for 60 USD here despite being released 3 years ago to poor reviews.
To be fair to the other DW games, they mostly seem to be "ultimate" editions which contain all the DLC but selling for full release price so thats understandable.
But thats still 50+ USD for games nearly a decade old.
Looks like sometimes we just have to put up with it and play by the House Rules.
If we want this industry practice to change (like how gamers rose up and changed lootboxes and Pay to Win mechanics) the only way to fix this is if GTA 6, Elder Scrolls 6, or some other BIG HUGE game offered a Pre-order +20USD advanced access pass. Only then would the monumental deluge of backlash finally open up some eyes and make the industry notice.
For now its either pay up now or wait for a sale in a year.
It will be hilarious, trust me.
I think you're correct.
exactly why i refunded, pirates get to play 3D earlier then buyer im not taking that L
100%, it's rewarding pirates over customers. Along with chopping up game into portions to serve just another reason I'm never supporting this publisher again.
Why do you care what pirates do? It has zero impact on you, unless you plan to pirate it.
Also, I highly doubt the early access version will be any easier or harder to pirate than any other game on Steam these days. If you hate pirates so much you won't pay for the game legitimately, then stop buying media at all. Steam is pretty easy to bypass, like 99% of DRM out there.
You might be the only person on this planet that wants to buy games with harsher DRM like SecuROM, Denuvo, or Starforce. lmao
So at least you can get it super cheap
idc not gonna take the L and watch pirate play earlier then me. if dev and publisher wanna do dum stuff then too bad im not gonna buy thats all.
it doesnt seem like this simple logic will get thru to u anyway since u are a fanboi oh well
52 cheap ? depend on the person, cheap would be around 25, and for other cheap would be 0
Depend on people wallet :p
That's what I meant
